:: HISTORY AND PERSONALITY ::

History: Simon grew up on Osiris with his genies little sister River. His family had plenty of money and he attended the top Med academy. Simon graduated at the top three percent of his class; and he finished his internship in 18 months. Simon was on his way to being one of the most respected and admired surgeon’s at the most prestigious hospitals in Capitol City.

Meanwhile River, who was hundred times smarter than her brother, wanted to study at an academy that would challenge her and it had the most exciting programs. She was only 14. Everything was fine at first, but after a while he started receiving letters that made no sense. He figured out that it was a code, his parents wouldn’t believe him. Instead calling him paranoid, and simply lost without his sister. But really Simon found out that the blue sun, and the government was hurting her. Playing with her brain.

With Simon’s influence he figured a way to get her out with the help of an underground movement, he spent great amounts of money and was finally able to reach her. River was cryogenically frozen and shipped to Persephone with her brother. In where he boarded passage with the crew of the Serenity. Unfortunately he was being followed by the feds, as both Simon and River where now fugitives against the Alliance government. After his story being learned by the crew, and the fed or rather mole aboard the ship being gotten rid of, Malcolm Reynolds hired him on as the medic long as he could keep River under control.

Personality: Perhaps as a result of his sheltered Core upbringing, Simon never expects deception. He’s an easy mark for betrayal and practical jokes. Simon’s first instinct is to protect his sister, an impulse that goes so far that he ignores or pushes aside anything , or anyone he wants for himself. Even with the dangerous and unusual situations that seem to crop up as a member of the Serenity’s crew, Simon usually keeps a cool head looking for his moment. Simon often enough is rather sarcastic, especially towards Jayne. He also cares a lot about Kaylee, even if he’s too much of a boob to admit it. He isn’t very good with talking to girls, especially one’s he likes. Stuttering and falling over his own words often enough.
